This btn was about fidget spinners.
Fidget spinners are banned in some schools.
Online they’re marketed as a way to help kids with ADHD or autism spectrum disorder to concentrate.
The Western Australian government has planned an investigation after some kids got hurt by the other complicated fidgets.
Who created fidget spinners?
Why are they still trending?
One day a new toy was introduced. It was the fidget spinner. Originally fidget spinners were for kids with ADHD or autism to help them concentrate. But now they’re just a trending toy.
Goal: to edit 100 wc
When I woke up I saw some flashing lights and thought it might be the cops. I went outside to see but it wasn’t the cops, it was a flickering light post. It started to rain and that rain started pouring down. Soon enough, some lightning was striking the Earth. In the flash of lightning I saw a black figure. It stayed were I saw it first and just stared back. I was pretty freaked when I saw the figure, but in the flash of a light, he was gone. I was pretty freaked and I went back to my bed.
This btn was about a recent cyber-attack.
WannaCry is a recent cyber-attack made by hackers that want money.
Hackers sent out a bunch of emails with dodgy links or attachments. When people clicked on them, the software was downloaded and locked up all the files on their computer. It didn’t allow them back on unless they paid a ransom of about 400 Aussie dollars.
WannaCry has so far infected 300, 000 computers over 150 countries.
Why do people hack?
Why do they use a computer to get money?
A super secret US government department called the National Security Agency (NSA) is to blame. One of the things they do is go through computer and phone software to find mistakes they could use to spy on people. When they find that, they hold on to it until needed. But one of mistakes was leaked online and it got in the wrong hands and WannaCry was born.
In the year 3032, people are made of newspaper with brains inserted in their paper heads. Also fidget spinners are not a ‘thing’ anymore. All they use now is electronics, they use them to order fast food, and no one goes out of their homes. Only few humans still live on Earth. But in one home they are eating burgers but also drinking at the same time. No one talks, all they use is just devices to message people. It is not normal to us in 2017, but 3032 is a whole new thing. And 1 of those paper people is you!
This btn was about reducing land fill.
At some schools, in their recess and lunch they have the land fill whelly bin. But in class they have a very small bin to try and reduce land fill.
Every year Aussies throw out 50 million tonnes of waste, which equals 2 tonnes per person in Australia.
Each class has 3 different bins. A compost for food or vegetable scraps, a recycling for paper and glass or anything with the recycle logo. And finally the land fill bin for broken things, non-recycable things and anything else.
Why don’t more schools try this?
Why doesn’t the government change the land fill bin size?
Some schools have sorted out their rubbish in their schools into certain categories so that we don’t produce as much land fill.
Goal: to not rush to the problem.
One day I was exploring a wide and long cave. It was near a swamp. I was worried because I might dirty my new orange t shirt and it could collapse within. I had my dad with me to explore the cave, we went in but it was unusually structured. It had smooth parts all over the place and some scale marks imprinted in the dirt. I was starting to get a little bit worried. I could hear something coming from where we entered, it made a bit of groaning, but then I realised we were in a crocodile’s home!
This btn was about video games.
People are playing video games way too much.
Game developers use tricks to make you not log off or leave the game, and they do that with online interactivity, losing progress if you log out or levels are really long.
Some kids get so interactive in their games that parents have to yell from somewhere for them to get off their mobile, console or computer.
Why don’t some people make charts for video games or time limits?
why don’t people ban video games in some families? (not in mine!)
kids get stuck in video games and they can’t stop because of the tricks that lure you in and make sure that you don’t log out.
It was April fools day. I was exited but also terrified. I can prank people, but GET pranked. I walked to school, making sure that I was cautious about every step I made. When I reached school, I made sure I was extra careful about where I was stepping. When school started and we started a lesson, I knew I was safe because of the teacher. But when recess started that was when I needed to be in cautious mode. I got out my homemade cupcake my mum made and started to eat it. I just couldn’t eat something so gross. APRIL FOOLS!
This btn was about marngrook footy. Aboriginal footy.
Marngrook is an old aboriginal sport, that relates to AFL or aussie rules.
Marngrook sometimes had more than 50 players on a team and you had to be pretty fit to play because games could last 2 days.
Marngrook is the Gunditjmara word for ‘Game Ball’.
Why don’t modern Australians play marngrook as a sport these days?
Why did the games last for 2 days?
AFL was created more than 150 years ago by Thomas Wentworth Wills who at the time was one of the best cricketers. He grew up in Australia and stayed in England for a while, and he saw lots of sports. So he decided to come up with an idea to create a new winter sport game with his cricket mates, known as AFL, and it was because of marngrook.
